Celebrating 50 years of live performances, Colin Linden presents the RIDE ON Tour.

Colin Linden’s tale is the stuff of legend, the kind told in the Coen brothers’ O Brother Where Art Thou or Inside Llewyn Davis, both of which featured his guitar playing on the soundtracks. As a singer/guitarist, he’s accompanied everyone from Bruce Cockburn (as his producer and touring musician) to Bob Dylan, Greg Allman, Rihannon Giddens, Pistol Annies, John Prine and more. He was the main contributor to the music for the Nashville TV show and subsequent live tours. Along the way, Linden played on over 500 albums and produced 140, including his first-ever actual Grammy in 2020 for producing Keb Mo’s Oklahoma, winner for Best Americana Album. He has also nabbed a staggering 25 Juno Award nominations and nine wins. You may know Colin from one of his band projects, Blackie & The Rodeo Kings with Stephen Fearing & Tom Wilson.

Colin & Jay Linden have been playing music together since before they could really walk and talk.  They’ve both had long lives making music in both high profile and low profile environments.  But they have never stopped playing together and this very special show reflects the nearly 60 years they’ve spent playing whatever music they feel like playing.  And they are so glad to be able to share this unique experience with you. Jay’s new album, “Ordinary Sunrise” has received a huge amount of airplay in the folk and roots worlds, and his songs have been soundly praised for their insight and power. Colin has played on 500 albums, produced over 150 albums (including the 2020 Grammy winner “Oklahoma”by Keb Mo) and has 14 albums of his own including his most recent, Juno nominated “bLOW” (earning him his 29th Juno nomination).

T Bone Burnett delves deeply into the myriad genres of American Music, returning to his roots as a singer and songwriter. The love story at the center of the 12-song collection follows the journey of a couple that may no longer be of this plane. Co-produced by Colin Linden, Mike Piersante and Burnett, the album features longtime friends Rosanne Cash and early bandmate Steven Soles, new collaborators Lucius and Weyes Blood, and trusted musical companions including Dennis Crouch, Stuart Duncan, Jay Bellerose, and Rory Hoffman.

Meeting T Bone Burnett through artist Sam Phillips – who was the opening act for Bruce Cockburn, with whom Linden was playing – was a life-altering event, leading him to gigs with the Coen brothers and the Nashville TV series. 

“I couldn’t ever have had a better mentor as a record producer and music maker,” says Linden about his longtime friend.

On June 30th Colin will provide accompaniment for  T Bone Burnett  in a special performance at the Bob Dylan Centre in Tulsa Oklahoma 

Nashville, TN – Today, blues singer/songwriter/guitarist/producer Colin Linden releases his newest track “Until the Heat Leaves Town” from his upcoming album bLOW, out September 17, 2021 (on Highway 20/Thirty Tigers). The groove-heavy track conjures up a traditional blues theme of a down-on-his-luck character whose time has ultimately run out.  

Linden shares the true story behind the smoking song: 
“Larry. Country blues legend. My hero. Playing music fed his soul. Side deals fed his family. He ran afoul of some unsympathetic folks on a deal. He was in need of a place to hide. Me and Dave. Hanging out, playing guitar. A warehouse by the Brooklyn Bridge. Larry showed up one night, breathless and shifty. He stayed a few days, vague on details, one eye on the door. One morning he was gone, like a puff of smoke. I pictured him walking away, dawn climbing up the side of Manhattan Island like a cool breeze.” 

bLOW is the first release from another artist on Lucinda Williams’ imprint Highway 20 and embodies the powerful blues-meets-rock-meets-roots style Linden has crafted over his illustrious 45-year career. Linden’s epic blues odyssey began at the mere age of 11 during a fateful encounter with Howlin’ Wolf, who implored him to carry on the torch after he was gone. An act of beautiful foreshadowing, Linden’s career has seen him share the stage with legends like Bob Dylan, Gregg Allman, Bruce Cockburn and John Prine. In 2020, after playing on over 500 albums and producing 140, he landed his first Grammy for his producer role on Keb’ Mo’s Oklahoma.
