Colin Linden is celebrating 50+ years of live performances in his RIDE ON Tour, and we are delighted to be welcoming him to Morrisburg! Colin's tale is the stuff of legend, the kind told in the Coen brothers’ O Brother Where Art Thou or Inside Llewyn Davis, both of which featured his guitar playing on the soundtracks. That film would begin with an 11-year-old meeting his musical idol Howlin’ Wolf at a matinee show in his native Toronto, accompanied by his mom, who took a picture of the two during a nearly two-hour long conversation before the gig, the legendary bluesman idling over coffee and cigarettes.
“I’m an old man now, and I won’t be around much longer,” Wolf told him. “It’s up to you to carry it on.”
Linden willingly took the torch from Wolf, and still carries that frayed photograph in his wallet, along with a Sears 5/8” socket wrench in his pocket to play slide guitar. He has taken Wolf’s plea seriously, “Roots music and blues," he says, "do speak to a lot of people right now. Much of the healing and release you get from listening to this music, the power and form of expression, has shown itself to be so vital in these times. It feels timeless because it’s such a raw nerve.” Colin has performed since he was 12 years old, and as a singer/guitarist, he’s accompanied everyone from Bruce Cockburn (as his producer and touring musician) to Bob Dylan, Greg Allman, Rihannon Giddens, Pistol Annies, John Prine and more. With a full schedule that includes fronting his other band, Blackie and the Rodeo Kings, Linden hasn’t missed a beat. He was the main contributor to the music for the Nashville TV show and subsequent live tours. Along the way, Colin played on over 500 albums and produced 140, including his first-ever Grammy win in 2020 for producing Keb Mo’s Oklahoma, winner for Best Americana Album. He has played Nashville’s Grand Ole Opry an astonishing 86 times and in 2025 played at Ringo Starr's 85th ‘Peace & Love’ birthday celebration which, he says “was an incredible experience and a huge honour.” Colin has also nabbed a staggering 25 Juno Award nominations and nine wins. Opening this show is local blues man Jamie Heath. Some have described his style as hard-core-kick-you-in-the-stomach-blues and with a mix of originals and songs by Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, Leroy Carr, and more, Jamie will get the evening off to a toe tapping, body-shaking start!
Tickets for this show are $35 in advance (+ online fees) or $40 at the door. Advance tickets are available online only through the Eventbrite Link below. Your ticket will be delivered to you via email. If shows are sold out, we will post that information here and on our Facebook page, otherwise you should assume you can also purchase tickets at the door. We accept cash, credit card or debit for day of show sales.
All seating at our shows is general admission - which means you will choose your seat on arrival. There isn't a bad seat in the house, but if you would like to be close to the front we recommend arriving at least half an hour before show time (doors will open at 6.15/showtime is 7 pm).
The Upper Canada Playhouse in Morrisburg is a fully accessible venue - we will reserve seats for those who need access to wheelchair or walker spaces.
